Tea Ceremony

Participants can learn about and take part in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The ceremony with matcha tea is a ritual bonding experience of mindfulness, respect, and a focus on the moment.
Suibokuga Workshop

Participants will learn the basics of Japanese ink brush painting using only black ink. The bold use of black ink strokes and washes allow the artist to present the essential character of the subject.

Art of Wataru Sugiyama

Wataru will discuss his artworks from Haniwa, terracotta figurines, to his current bronze works. Two other sculptors will also present their art: Jack Langford and Sadato Hosoda. After dark, visitors can watch a bronze pouring of a section of Wataru’s latest piece.
